The UAE has unveiled a new government initiative aimed at simplifying home loan applications for Emiratis. Vice-President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced on Tuesday that the government is committed to streamlining and reducing the application procedures.

Under the new system, applicants will now only need to interact with one entity, a significant reduction from the previous 11. Additionally, the number of documents requiring approval has been drastically cut from 10 to just two, Sheikh Mohammed noted.

This initiative is part of the 'Manzili' housing services bundle, which aims to eliminate 2,000 government processes within a year and reduce processing time by 50%. The bundle will provide access to 18 housing services while consolidating service fields from 32 to 5.

In addition to these reforms, Sheikh Mohammed announced the approval of Dh1.68 billion in housing support for citizens through the Sheikh Zayed Housing Program. This funding will facilitate the construction of 2,160 new homes for citizens.

The streamlined housing loan process is a key component of the UAE's Zero Government Bureaucracy Program, which aims to streamline processes and eliminate unnecessary procedures. In February, the government set a target of reducing at least 2,000 procedures within a year and cutting processing times in half.

As part of this initiative, the second phase of the Work Bundle platform was launched, reducing the processing time for necessary documents for work permits and residency visas from 30 days to just five days across the UAE.
